Wonderful You

This week I was on a mission to scrap! So I challenged myself to create a layout a day while Alexia napped. So I pulled one of my favourite collection by Crate Paper - DIY and got to work and started layering papers and embellies. I ended up with this layout, I'm pretty happy about it.

I love adding layers to my layouts, which I create with pattern paper but also embellishment and diecuts. Crate Paper always creates amazing coordinating diecuts with their collections, I could just use that on a layout and I would be a happy girl! Tim Holtz tiny attacher is one of my favourite tools, so practical for adhering wood veneer and other embellishments.

The top portion of the layout features the speech bubble pattern paper. I added words to the bubbles using Heidi Swapp rub ons. I was hoping to use my typewriter but the paper was too big, so glad to have had those rubs in my stash. The little wood veneer hearts compliments the arrows that are located below.

So another little cluster of embellishments, sometimes I will use something that fits in with the layout, such as the A for Alexia and 9 for her age in months. Other times I'll just use something because I feel like it, it doesn't really "fit" in the theme of the layout but I don't really care, HA! That was the case of the clouds, they were on my desk and I just decided to plop them on my layout, no reason, I just felt like it.

Well I was chatty today, wasn't I!? Enjoy your weekend, I'll be back on Monday.
