NYC Mini Album / PL cards

Hello friends!! Thought it was time for me to share my NYC mini album that I created using mostly 3x4 cards and a PL kit. I have a new found love for mini albums and thought it would be fun to create an album using PL cards. The process to create this mini album was rather simple, just pile it on. LOL! I kept my pictures to mostly 3x4 to compliment the PL cards and added large pieces of pattern paper to create the covers.  As you can see, all those 3x4 PL cards you've been collecting can also be used in a mini album, they really simplify the process. Enjoy!

February PL with 2Peas

Happy weekend friends!  Today I am sharing a new PL spread on 2Peas in a Bucket. This year I decided to do a monthly format which has been working out great for me! I hadn't designed my February PL so this is what I decided to do for my assignment. I hope you will check out the full reveal on 2Peas.

January PL with 2Peas

Hello my friends! I shared another PL spread yesterday on 2Peas. Like I've said before I've changed my format this year to a monthly as opposed to weekly format. This has significantly reduce the stress that came with keeping up with my PL, I'm very happy to say that it's working. For January I had 2 spreads and that was perfect! For February I will probably only have one spread, it was a slower month. All this to say that if you are struggling with your PL you should give yourself "permission" to change things up and maybe use another format. If you want to some ideas, just check out my 2Peas projects.

PL Spread with 2Peas in a Bucket

Hello friends! Over the weekend I shared a new PL spread on 2 Peas in a Bucket. This spread showcase a milestone using a large picture. Even though this was a bit challenging at first, I really love the end result.

You can see the full reveal on 2Peas. in the meantime here are some close ups of my spread, hope you enjoy!

Week 36

Hello friends! You might or might not have been wondering what happened to my 2013 PL. Well, I'm still catching up, returning to work full time last fall and trying to do a weekly PL just didn't work for me, so I'm still slowly catching up. That is the main reason why I've decided to do my 2014 PL on a monthly basis, this concept works much better for me. But I do need to finish my 2013 album, I can't leave it have done. So every once in a while I will do a spread. The pictures are all ready, some are even printed and already in the page protectors, so half the job is done.

I've decided to start sharing my weeks again, they are not fancy at all, very simple and basic but the memories are documented and this makes me happy.

2014 PL with 2Peas

Happy Saturday friends!!!! I have my very first PL spread of 2014 up on 2Peas in a Bucket. This year I'm taking a much more laid back approach to PL. First of all, I've changed the page protectors format, I love the new size, it just works for me. Second, I'm doing my PL on a monthly basis, which means I only print the pics at the end of the month, from that I see if I need 2 pages or more. This new approach will help me keep up to date with my PL (I still haven't finished my 2013 PL) and I will be less stressed out about the whole process. I hope you'll check out my spread, I think it's my fave PL spread I've ever created.

Week 42 with 2Peas in a Bucket

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a PL spread that I created for 2Peas in a Bucket, I'm super excited that you are taking the time to look at it. Ok, confession time…I'm about 3 months behind on my 2013 PL! Yikes! Will i get it done? Yes probably, but I'm not rushing the process, it will happen…sometime.

Here are some pictures from my PL, more close ups and the full spread is on the 2Peas DT gallery. My colour inspiration came from the mood board, love the soft grey, black and teal. It was perfect for my vibrant pictures of NYC, especially Danika's backpack!

2Peas has the best wood veneer cards, I'm hooked and need them all! Did you know that you can sew and use a typewriter on these cards?! Yup! I've done it and it worked so very well!

Week 35 with Jillibean Soup

Happy hump day! Today I'm sharing week 35 that I created for Jillibean Soup. This week I focused mainly on using white cardstock, alpha stickers, diecuts and washi tape. I had a lot of pictures to showcase for week 35 so I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum.

Lots of close ups are available on the Jillibean Soup blog.

Jillibean Soup Kinda of Day!

Happy Friday folks! I've had a couple of projects up on the Jillibean Soup blog this week. First up my PL spread, I was caught up but now I've fallen behind again, sigh! Week 32 was super busy, there is a lot of pictures and very little journaling.

This layout features the new Christmas Chowder collection. I love the non traditional color combo and the new diecuts are adorable.

I layered the pictures with diecuts, label stickers and new wise words. I just love the caption in the speech bubble and was immediately drawn to it.

After using mist to create splatters and stamping random snowflakes, I stitched on my layout a diecut piece from the same collection.

Week 31

Drive-by post today to share week 31. My color palette is muted with gold accents, I think this has to be one of my fave combo and PL spread. Lots of journaling which really makes me happy. Fun pictures of my girl with her new bike make this spread even more special.

Week 30

A quick Friday post to share week 30, love the soft color palette of this spread. Again this is another spread with less pictures and a lot of journaling, this is my process when I am low on pics for a week, I include a lot of journaling. I mostly used past SC kits and some embellishments from my personal stash. Hope you have a lovely long weekend.

Week 29

Hello friends, today I'm sharing week 29, this week includes a lot of journaling and a mix of Studio Calico PL kits. I especially love the cards in the SC kits that can be used either vertically or horizontally, extra bang for your buck.

29 weeks into my 2013 PL and I still love it. Love how I can document our day to day, how I can satisfy my need to play with paper and I love looking through my album and seeing our life.

Week 27

Happy Monday friends! This blog post features week 27 which I created for Jillibean Soup. Week 27 was fun, we celebrated Canada Day, we had a lot of activities so they took up most of the space in my spread. I also tried a new format of page protectors (to the right) and I really like the creative options it offers. I was able to feature more pictures because of this new design (new to me, I know it's been out for a while). If you would like to see more detailed pictures, please hop on over to the Jillibean Soup blog, I did post a lot of details and close ups.

Week 26

Hello friends, I'm back today with another instalment of PL. Week 26 was created with a mix of Studio Calico kits. I especially love the accent cards that feature cute quotes, like the "the good life" card below.  I really could get carried away and use a lot of those cards on my spreads. My mom took the girls strawberry picking and she remembered to take pictures, gotta love her!!! It was the first week of vacation, so it was a quiet one, the girls were relaxing. :)

Week 25

Life is moving so quickly, summer is almost to an end and yesterday we celebrated Bri's 5th birthday, we had a wonderful day with family, my girl was happy, my heart was full.

Here's week 25, there's actually another page protector in between these pages to showcase all the pictures from our family photo shoot. It was a busy week, so much going on with end of school and family pictures. I keep the embellishments to a minimum and only did handwritten journaling, this was a fast spread. Kept a simple design because I'm a bit behind and really wanted to catch up. I used mostly bits and pieces from some Studio Calico kits mixed with random items. I'll back with more PL spreads later this week.

Week 24 & Giveaway

I've finally photographed 4 weeks worth of PL. I actually wasn't going to post them because they are all starting to look the same but since I already posted all my PLs to date, I just couldn't stop posting, plus I still post my PL for  Jillibean Soup and if I stopped posting my regular PLs, then some weeks would be missing and my PL tab would be a hot mess, I just can't have that.

So what is there to say about week 24? Hum, not much! Ha! I used a mixed of products, mostly from Studio Calico and some bits I had on my desk. Sorry for the glare in the top left tab, the lighting wasn't the best.

So am I still loving PL? Yep I am. However, I am not putting as much effort as I did before. Why? Not sure, maybe I was trying to impress "people", but honestly I'm not doing PL for "people", I'm doing it for my girls. So I'm taking a very laid back approach to this PL business but I do love documenting our day to day life. It might be a bit challenging when I go back to work but honestly, most of the stuff happens during the weeknights or weekends anyway, so it should still work.

On to some more exciting news, there's a giveaway going on right now on the Jillibean Soup blog, check out this post CHA Summer Giveaway - Jill is showcasing the new collections and is even offering a chance to win some brand new products! Gotta love those giveaways.

In case you haven't seen the new collections here they are, the full reveal is on the Jillibean Soup blog, they are fabulous!!! I just can't wait to play with these awesome new lines.

Week 23 with Jillibean Soup

Today I'm sharing week 23 on the Jillibean Soup blog.  For this week's spread I decided to create decorative cards for my spread. I really enjoy the process of making these cards, it's quick and easy.

Here's a preview of the cards, the full version is also available on the Jillibean Soup blog.

Week 20 with Jillibean Soup

I'm very exicted to share week 20 of my PL, which was created with the latest Jillibean Soup collection, Happy Camper. Talk about the perfect collection to use with my camping pictures! I had put this week aside to work with this new collection, I was so happy to see it land on my front steps a little while back. I can't say enough good things about the Bite Size Cards, again the quotes and design were perfect for a PL, I used 6 cards on this spread.

Week 20 was pretty quiet so I decided to focus my PL on our first camping trip, I included a lot of handwritten journaling and tidbits about the weekend.

The pea pods parts (or die cuts) in this collection are such a cute mix of road signs, cute animals and camping goods, I love incorporating little tidbits through my spread.

I've included a lot of close up pictures, they can be seen on the Jillibean Soup blog, so hop on over if you can.

Week 22

Today I am sharing week 22 on the Jillibean Soup blog. I thought that my pictures were all over the place, different activities, Alexia's baptism, home renos, IG pics, DLSR pics, etc... So I wanted to keep things simple, I paired POW glitter paper with Silhouette cuts. I used Bite Size Bits by Jillibean Soup along with various stickers and diecuts to embellish the journaling cards. I have to say that my 2 favorite cards are the date and speech bubble cards, close ups can be seen on the Jillibean Soup blog.

How are you coming along with your PL? Are you behind? Right now I'm about 2 weeks behind, but I should catch up very soon. That's typical for me, get behind 3 weeks or so, and then catch up. Whatever works right?!
